Grid Feeding Solar: KACO Agrees To Supply 300MW Of Inverters To South Korean DNE

KACO new energy GmbH, one of the world’s largest manufacturers of inverters for grid feeding of solar power has concluded an agreement to supply 300 MW of inverters to South Korean system provider and EPC company DNE Solar Ltd. The German company will deliver string inverters, devices that are primarily used with commercial rooftop and utility-scale solar systems. The new contract will means a doubling of the past five year’s overall volume of trade between the two companies and DNE will only purchase string inverters from KACO.

Edify Energy, Wirsol Complete Landmark Solar Farm Project Financing

Australian developer Edify Energy and German investor Wirsol have successfully completed Australia’s largest single solar project financing to build and operate 3 new large-scale solar farms: the Whitsunday and Hamilton Solar Farms in Queensland, and the Gannawarra Solar Farm in Victoria. When complete in Q1 2018, the Queensland and Victorian markets will benefit from an additional 198 MWp of renewable capacity, including the first large-scale farm in Victoria. Both companies are confident that investment in large-scale renewable energy will become more common place.

Canadian Solar Secures PPAs With SECI For 80 MWac Solar Power Projects In India

The company has finalised power purchase agreements (PPAs) with the Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) for 80 MW of solar PV capacity awarded to the company under the recent 450 MW Maharashtra tender. Maharashtra is India’s second-most-populous state and a growing solar power. This underscores the trend of significant organisations in the solar sector securing their positioning in India. The country is set to surpass Japan as the world’s third-highest growth solar market in 2017, with most analysts expecting the country to add at least 8 GW of new solar capacity this year.

Tata Capacity Exceeds 10.5 GW, As 15 MW Telangana Solar Plant Begins Operations

Tata Power Renewable Energy Ltd, India’s largest renewable energy company has announced the start of commercial operations at its 15 MW solar plant in Telangana. The solar plant has been built over 80 acres of land and includes an 18 km transmission line. Sale of power from the plant has been tied up under a 25 year Power Purchase Agreement at a tariff of Rs. 5.72. Gamesa Consolidates Indian Industrial Presence With New Manufacturing Facility

Gamesa Targets Indonesia’s High-Potential Wind Market With Its First Wind Farm

Gamesa, has entered into an agreement with PT UPC Sidrap Bayu Energi – a joint venture owned by UPC Renewables, PT Binatek and AC Energy Holdings- for the supply of 75 MW for the first wind farm ever to be commissioned in Indonesia, a high-potential wind market. This order also constitutes a sales and product milestone for Gamesa as it marks the first time its G114-2.5 MW model will be installed in Asia-Pacific, excluding China. These turbines will reach up to 2.625 MW under certain technical conditions.

Japan’s Jera Accelerates Growth Of India’s ReNew Power With $200m Investment

JERA Co., a joint venture between two of Japan’s largest utility companies, Tokyo Electric Power Co., Inc. and Chubu Electric Power Co has invested $200m in ReNew Power, one of India’s largest clean energy companies, as its first investment in the Indian energy sector, where significant economic growth has brought increased demand for electricity. In addition, the Indian government has set a target of introducing 100 GW of solar and 60 GW of wind power generation by 2022. The acquisition of a 10 percent stake values ReNew Power at $2 bn.

Adani Commissions India’s Largest Solar Power Plant In Record Time Of 150 Days

India’s leading integrated infrastructure conglomerate, the Adani Group has commissioned the country’s largest solar power plant in Kutch district, Gujarat. The current capacity of the plant is 40MW, with plans to expand this to 100 MW. It’s India’s largest solar power plant, and commissioned for a record time of 150 days – from foundation stone laying to electricity generation. The plant has over 400,000 solar PV modules mounted on 21,600 structures, which are erected on 130,000 foundations. The project was awarded under Gujarat Solar Power Policy of 2009.

Pingdu Begins Operation. EfW: Annual 70,000 MW/h From 600 Tonnes Of Daily Waste

China Everbright has announced that the Group’s Pingdu Waste-to-energy Project Phase I in Shandong Province has completed construction and commenced operation. It commenced construction in December 2015 and passed the “72 +24” hours trial run on 4 January 2017. The project has a designed daily household waste processing capacity of 600 tonnes and is expected to generate approximately 70,000,000 kWh of green electricity annually. Gas emissions fully comply with the Euro 2010 Standard.
